What is the function of the fire ball?
A fire extinguisher ball is a round-shaped fire extinguisher used to extinguish a fire. It is called a ball because of its round shape. Just like every other fire extinguisher, it puts out the fire when there is a fire emergency. The size is mainly 150mm in diameter with a weight of 1.5 kg. Types of Fire Balls:
B Class – Liquid burning materials.
C Class – Fire involving combustibles.
E Class – Electrical Fires.

Fire Hydrant Systems:
This is a very effective extinguishing system suitable for various plants and high-rise buildings as well as commercial complexes. The system mainly consists of water storage reservoir (underground or above ground), pump set, piping ring around the building and terminals inside the building, hydrant valves, hoses, branch pipes with nozzles and hose boxes. On the ring main, the hydrant stand posts are provided with hydrant valves.
The system is of two types: one is a wet riser and the other a dry riser. The wet riser system is automatic type and dry riser is manually operable.
With the help of pressure and ample amount of water, the jet from the nozzles can be projected at the base of the fire to extinguish it completely.
Internal hydrant: Internal fire hydrants are intended for use by any employee or other trained personnel and provide means of delivering considerable quantities of water to extinguish or to prevent the spread of fire inside a building with less weight for usage.
External fire hydrant system: Fire hydrant installation consists of a system of pipework connected directly to the water supply main to provide water to each and every hydrant outlet and is intended to provide water for the firemen to fight a fire.
